SOCIAL PRACTICE LAB: Combining artistic innovation with community engagement, Asian Arts Initiative has launched our Social Practice Lab as a year-long artist-in-residency program with 11 creative individuals dedicated to exploring and enlivening our neighborhood in Chinatown North.

YOUTH ARTS WORKSHOP: By providing art-making opportunities and a safe space for Asian American teens and their classmates, we hope that teens will have a chance to explore and express their experiences and connect with others in their community.

EMOJI ENERGY: Volta Studio partnered with the Asian Arts Initiative Youth Arts Workshop to create a public artwork that wraps a large section of the Callowhill Substation located at 11^th and Callowhill St. Teens participating in the Youth Arts Workshop explored the history of electricity, electricity as a utility, electricity and the human body, and electricity as a creative metaphor.
